This workshop explores examples of Black resistance, traditional and contemporary healing practices, and rituals that center Black Joy throughout the African diaspora. Attendees had the opportunity to examine ways that they can support Black resistance, resilience, and joy in their roles.ย
Objectives:ย
1. Explore the connection between Juneteenth and other community celebrations from the African Diaspora that are focused on empowering and affirming Black identity.ย
2. Identify examples of generational healing in the Black community and how they connect to joy.ย
3. Develop a personal definition of Black Joy and create an action plan for increasing joy in daily life.
